Rollerskate Bearings

Rollerskate bearings are what allow your wheels to spin smoothly. There are two main sizes: 7mm and 8mm, with a few exceptions. Both sizes fit in rollerskate wheels, but the axle determines the correct bearing size. Bearings are also rated using the ABEC system. ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineers’ Committee, which sets standards for bearing accuracy and heat tolerance. There are several types of bearings available. Some feature removable rubber shields, making them easy to clean and reducing rolling resistance—like the original Bones Swiss bearings.
